Our FarmStart programme is about to reach a milestone (and undergo some changes) as we complete our first five years at Abbey Leys Farm in Cheshire.
We established the UK’s first organic incubator site based on a tried and tested model from North America, providing a five year programme for FarmStarters to learn about commercial food growing and build a business, before moving onto their own site.

A People's Food Policy - England's first people-led food & farming plan - is launched! And Kindling is just one of many UK organisations who have contributed ideas, experiences and insights into this far reaching plan.

"On my recent trip to France looking at incubator farms and access to land, I was discussing with Veronique, one of our hosts from Terre de Liens, the potential of transferring their model to the UK. Veronique, very sympathetically, pointed out that we have a real challenge on our hands here and that she struggles to think of another country where food culture is so lacking.
Our Helen recently attended the Lush Spring Prize event, where Kindling was shortlisted for an award.
