Kindling Farm

Members day at Woodbank

Tour of Woodbank

Last Saturday we welcomed over 80 of our new members of Kindling Farm to Woodbank Community Food Hub for an exciting open day.

We gave them tours of the site, explaining the similarities that we'll be seeing on the farm in the future, and they were able to enjoy some delicious home cooked soup and stew from our fantastic volunteers. We had a veg stall filled with all our produce grown by the excellent team of community gardeners, and a cake stall that people flocked to in between tours.

Kindling a food revolution during the cost of living crisis

Protestor at Cost of Living Crisis Rally

We are entering one of the worst financial crises of the last few decades, with many people already feeling the squeeze of the cost of living crisis - and things are seeming as if they will only get worse in the coming months. While the cost of living goes up, the national insurance increase may mean that our take-home wage is also decreasing. UK households are facing yet more decisions on whether to heat their homes or eat dinner.

Farm Manager wanted for Kindling Farm

Massey in field #2

We are seeking a Farm Manager to help us get our first season off to a good start, work with us to crop plan for future years and help us transform the farm into a thriving agroforestry project for the Northwest!

Kindling Farm was set up to create a fairer and more sustainable food and farming system for all. Last year we purchased a 31 hectare (78 acre) farm in Knowsley, to establish an organic fruit and veg based agroforestry system and show that climate and wildlife focused farming is an economically viable farming option.

Kindling Farm seeks architects

Kindling Farm

Kindling Farm seeks architects for the first stage of a hugely exciting project!

We are looking for ecologically and socially focused architects to work with us to design the transformation of our beautiful (but neglected) Victorian farm into a thriving hub and facilities for our communities (near and far).

In 2023 we purchased a 78 acre farm in Knowsley which we are turning into a pioneering agroforestry farm, focused on producing fruit and vegetables in a true example of wildlife friendly and low carbon farming.
