We would like to invite you to attend the upcoming FeedingManchester event. We've been maintaining our commitment to support groups, individuals and organisations around Greater Manchester, and encourage discussion between them.
For the upcoming FeedingManchester #11 event we will leave central Manchester where we will find out more about what's happening in Prestwich and work together to develop relationships that span the whole of Greater Manchester. The event will take place on Saturday 10th November, 9.30am – 4pm at the Creative Living Centre, Bury New Road, Prestwich, Greater Manchester, M25 3BL.
Many people will know of Incredible Edible and their Prestwich and District branch. We're pleased to be able to partner with them and other sustainable food and growing projects throughout the area to pull together a FULL DAY event. We hope to offer everyone the opportunity to get to know each other, work collaboratively to solve problems and take away new perspectives and skills.
Community Supported Bakery Special!
What does it take to get a community supported bakery (or other community food project) up and running? Members of Prestbake and Slaithwaite's Handmade Bakery will come together to present the challenges such initiatives face, to discuss their visions for success and to come up with solutions and ideas together.
Choice of two workshops/action groups
Choose from one of two skills sharing opportunities: using social media or attracting and retaining volunteers, plus one of two action groups: how to get more local produce on our markets and assisting Prestwich groups to establish a cohesive vision for their sustainable food projects. That's two workshops/groups each!
The floor is yours for five minutes
Got a project update to share? Something else to say to the group? Anything? Well, there are limited, five minutes slots available to you. The only condition is, you must use 20 slides and each one can last for just 15 seconds – apart from that, anything goes. Get in touch to let us know if you want one of just FOUR available slots.
We're still working on the absolute, final running order for the day, but we'll get a copy of the itinerary to you very soon. Of course, there will be networking opportunities, the chance to meet some of the people involved in Prestwich's growing projects for yourselves and a full introduction into what's happening north of Manchester.
Morning coffees, break time refreshments and lunch will be provided in the contribution that we're asking to help this event go ahead. We're working hard to make sure the full day is an energetic and informative day, and we're working equally hard to keep costs low. We're asking just £10 as a standard contribution. Public sector organisations are invited to attend for £35.
