We are looking for volunteers to help promote the local food family here in Greater Manchester.
Volunteering opportunities include working with our Foodlink NW partner: a North West-wide initiative to promote local food to more people by providing a platform for free or low-cost publicity.
Foodlink's Manchester team is seeking volunteers with an interest in food, marketing and the promotion of local businesses to assist in the development of a new card scheme. Since early 2012, Foodlink has established a growing base of followers, who can check for local food events on the project's constantly updated websites, plus dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages. Staff and volunteers attend and promote local food events throughout Greater Manchester and the North West, meeting a wide variety of food professionals and enthusiasts.
The new Foodlink Card helps food outlets to market and promote their products and is a great opportunity for volunteers to develop or put their business, promotion and marketing skills into practice. Helping to develop relationships with food businesses Foodlink is looking for help from people capable of working with local food companies to fulfil the potential of the card scheme, encouraging their involvement and helping to create effective promotions and activities.
With the option to work from the office near to Manchester city centre or from home, volunteers who feel they can contribute and learn from the launch of this exciting scheme are invited to consider if they can offer just a few hours a week if not more.
