To coincide with the RSPB’s National Garden Bird Watch 2026, we’re hosting a birdwatch here at the Farm!

Training level: Beginner
Event details:

The RSPB's Birdwatch is back for 2026! To coincide with this year's event, we'll be hosting our own birdwatch at the farm. Join Andrea Sarkissian, ecologist and long term volunteer at Kindling Farm in a guided walk through our fields.

Start the day with tea & coffee in the barn where you will learn about the different species we've spotted here at the farm and how to identify them as we journey across the fields. Andrea has been carrying out regular bird surveys on site so she'll be able to share her wealth of knowledge with us about the kind of activity and habitats she has discovered here.

Please bring binoculars if you have them and a small notebook to write down your findings (we will have some here for people to use).

This activity is aimed at beginners and can be suitable for all ages. However, please be mindful that it does involve walking across uneven ground and being outdoors for over an hour so it might not suit everyone!

We suggest wearing sturdy, waterproof footwear - walking boots are ideal. The farm is an open windy site so we recommend wearing a few layers to keep warm. And of course, we never can trust the weather so it’s best to bring a waterproof!

We kindly ask that you don’t bring your dogs with you.

The farm is about to undergo refurbishment so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible at the moment. We have limited facilities with one indoor toilet which is up a set of stairs. As a working farm, the ground can be uneven in places making activities in the fields difficult for those with limited mobility. If you have any questions about access, please contact: hayley@kindling.org.uk

You must register to come to this event as facilities and parking are limited.
