Join members of the Liverpool Repair Cafe in giving old, worn-out garden tools a new lease of life!

Training level: Beginner
Event details:

Broken spades? Blunt secateurs? Rake without a handle? Save your old garden tools from landfill by developing the skills (and confidence) to mend broken tools at this Repair Cafe. You’re welcome to come on the day with an item for repair or to help fix the tools we have onsite.

This is a practical workshop facilitated by members of the Liverpool Repair Cafe, a worldwide initiative which invites people of all levels to come together and collectively learn how to fix old, worn-out stuff from one another.

For this workshop, we're focussing solely on garden tools from spades and forks to strimmers and mowers. You can bring your own tools for repair and providing we have the parts you need, fix them together under the guidance of the Liverpool Repair Cafe team - we kindly ask for a donation of £5 towards any parts/materials. If we don't have the parts you need, we'll let you know what you need and when the next tool repair cafe is taking place.

Alternatively, we have a number of tools onsite which are in need of a new lease of life. By restoring our old tools, you’re helping us to minimise waste, conserve energy and extend the life of raw materials therefore helping us work towards a more environmentally sustainable way of farming.

This is a drop-in session; you are welcome to attend anytime between 10.30am-1.30pm.

The farm is about to undergo refurbishment so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible at the moment. We have limited facilities with one indoor toilet which is up a set of stairs. As a working farm, the ground can be uneven in places making activities in the fields difficult for those with limited mobility. If you have any questions about access, please contact: hayley@kindling.org.uk.

You must register to come to this event as facilities and parking are limited.

Transport Links

It's really easy travelling to the farm by public transport...

By train:
The nearest train station is Hough Green - trains from Manchester and Liverpool call here. It is a really straight forward walk along Netherley Road (B5178) to us; it takes around 30 minutes to walk.

By bus:
The number 79C runs between Liverpool and Runcorn. The bus stop is only a 3 minute walk to the farm! Bus fare is £2 each way.

By bicycle:
Use the Liverpool Loop Line to reach the farm. This green corridor is flat and almost entirely traffic-free.

To help reduce carbon emissions, why not consider carpooling?! We will send you an event reminder email ahead of the event date which will include directions to the farm.
