Christmas has arrived at Kindling Farm! Celebrate the festivities with a day of heritage craft making, mulled wine and Kindling treats for sale!
Join us this Christmas for a day of traditional crafts and heritage activities from a range of craftspeople and artisan makers from across the Northwest.
Get hands-on and give heritage crafts a go in our series of workshops:
Laura-Kate Draws will introduce us to the art of lino-printning, a form of block printing dating back to the mid-19th century. Apply your new skills to creating your own bespoke Christmas cards.
Medical herbalist, Bryony Allwood of Blossom Herbalist will be distilling fabulous festive scents such as bay and citrus peel. Learn how to create your own, bottle it up and take it home to infuse your home with the scents of the season.
Gemma at Folksy Flowers shows us how to make a traditional Christmas wreath in a more planet-friendly way with opportunities to make your own and take it home to adorn your front door.
Join the Merseyside Woodturners for a festive-themed demonstration to inspire the next generation to take up this endangered heritage craft.
Farm member, Ali Holden will fill the courtyard with the warming aroma of cinnamon as she bakes bread over an open fire and invites us have a go for ourselves!
Discover the history of Kindling Farm in a mini-exhibition curated by our volunteers and local community.
Head to the Kindling Market Stall to browse the jams and chutneys for sale made with Kindling produce. While you're there grab a mulled wine or mulled apple juice and a mince pie. If you're feeling peckish, we'll be serving a hearty soup made by our friend from Macclesfield Canal, The Floating Farmshop.
Our Heritage Fair has been made possible by The Heritage Lottery Fund, we won't be charging for a our workshops but donations towards the cost of materials would be gratefully received.
You must register to come to this event - please don’t just turn up as facilities are limited.
The farm is very easy to get to using public transport and due to limited parking on site, we are encouraging people to travel by bus or train. To help us keep track of car parking spaces, please email us ahead of time to secure a parking space. Email: hayley@kindling.org.uk
There are two opportunities to attend this event. You can book a time slot between 10am-12noon or 2-4pm. Please make sure you are booking for the right time slot.
We kindly ask that you don’t bring your dogs with you.
We do not have a cafe on site but refreshments will be available (donations are welcome).
The farm is about to undergo refurbishment so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible at the moment. We have limited facilities with one indoor toilet which is up a set of stairs and one outdoor camping loo.
Some activities on the day will take place outdoors and the site is generally an open and windy site; we recommend wearing a couple of layers to keep warm and we never can trust the weather so it’s best to bring a waterproof! As a working farm the ground can be uneven in place so we suggest wearing sturdy footwear.
By registering for this event, you are booking on to the morning time slot which runs between 10am - 12pm.
