Join us for an afternoon with Knowsley Archives to discover the story of Kindling Farm and the rich history of our community, Tarbock Green.
Tarbock Green Through the Archives - Thursday 19th June 2-4pm (25 people) FREE
Our 78 acre farm proudly stands in the hamlet of Tarbock Green in Knowsley, known for its rich farming history.
Kindling Farm (once known as Barn Hey Farm) is rumoured to be the oldest farm in the community with its traditional Victorian layout featuring two beautiful red brick farm buildings set around a once cobbled courtyard.
Join us for an afternoon with Knowsley Archives to discover the heritage of our farm and that of our neighbours in Tarbock Green.
Now a pioneering agroforestry farm for the Northwest, we have exciting ideas to transform our neglected buildings into a thriving hub of activity! As part of this event, you will have the chance to learn more about our big renovation plans.
The talk will start promptly at 2.30pm but you are welcome to join us from the earlier time of 2pm for tea & coffee.
Please note, the farm is about to undergo refurbishment. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible at the moment; the ground is uneven in many parts and can be tricky for those with limited mobility. We have limited facilities including one indoor toilet which is up a set of stairs.
If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please don't hesitate to get in touch by emailing hayley@kindling.org.uk or call 07926 975 391.

It doesn’t have to end there! We are looking for a team of volunteers to help us uncover more of the farm’s history. We will be meeting monthly from July - September at Knowsley Archives, Kirkby Library. Your findings will be presented at our Heritage Fair in December 2025. To express an interest, speak to Hayley at the event or email here at hayley@kindling.org.uk.
