Vicky Hart

Veg Box People and Manchester Veg People co-op worker

Vicky can mostly be found working through the Veg Box People emails or writing content for the weekly newsletter. She also shares the ordering duties, making sure that there is always the best supply of tasty veg in our bags each week. For Vicky, the most rewarding part of work is seeing the passion coming from all sides - from the ridiculously hardworking growers, to the most enthusiastic and supportive customers she’s ever encountered, and the amazingly dedicated team she gets to work in.

With a varied work history that has seen her promote cycling to the good people of Bristol, run 24-hour long nature engagement events, provide advice on immigration issues, and create marketing content for a variety of organisations, Vicky came to us from a charity that works to tackle inequalities and promote community cohesion in East Manchester. Alongside her work with us, she also supports the work of an organisation that campaigns on GMO issues in the UK food and farming sector.

As an enthusiastic grower herself, the prospect of providing the people of Manchester with the opportunity to access fresh, locally grown organic veg with Veg Box People was too much to resist. Vicky had been quietly following the work of the Kindling Trust for years, since living away from Manchester and plotting her return. Having grown up just minutes from Kindling’s Stockport growing site it’s inspiring for her to see the work being invested in the local community and beyond. As a passionate advocate for a more responsible and fair food and farming system, she is loving being part of a team that is working to transform the food landscape of Greater Manchester.
