Part of the initial process of starting a social change group or enterprise, involves making sure all the legal requirements are met, and policies and procedures are in place detailing the running of your organisation.

This process can be overwhelming and arduous, so below are some examples of policies that you may need.

These are pretty standard templates, that we used as a starting point for developing our policies. We think it is really important to make policies your own, rather than just adopting the standard template. These documents should be relevant and useful to you, so change the parts you won't do, or don't think are relevant to you, and add new sections that make the policies reflect the work and values of your group.

We found the process of making these templates into Kindling policies really useful for the development and direction of the project. It made us discuss, what we really believe is right on different issues, what will work and what won't, and how we will actually put the words in practice.

If you want to see copies of the Kindling policies we developed as a result of our discussions, have suggestions for improving any of these, or have any other policies or documents that may enhance our work please get in touch.
