We are looking for a new Business Development Officer to join both us and our sister organisation Veg Box People.
Are you a driven individual with business and sales skills and a passion for good food, who can help us turn the interest and enthusiasm for locally grown, wildlife-friendly food into increased sales and new fair trading relationships?
Would you be able to make a real difference as we embark on our most ambitious project yet?: the establishment of an organic agroforestry farm. We very recently purchased a 77 acre farm in Knowsley. Kindling Farm: a pioneering agroforestry farm for the Northwest where we will grow organic vegetables, fruit, cereals and pulses producing climate and wildlife-friendly food that pays farmers fairly and is accessible to a wide range of people.
Crucial to making this a success is financial viability, which means we need to increase the demand for our delicious fresh produce. Over the last decade, we have developed our markets in Greater Manchester, with strong relationships with Unicorn Grocery, the University of Manchester and by establishing our own veg box scheme, so there is a base to build on. But we have never really had the time and resources to really develop our markets and this is where this role comes in.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with us in expanding our organisation by building on our current markets and identifying and developing new ones. We have ambitious targets to meet, to create farming livelihoods and help bring about a fairer more sustainable food system. We would encourage you to consider this unique job opportunity.
