After successfully getting 4000 strawberry plants into the ground over the past month (and a huge thank you to everyone who came and made that possible!), we now have the work of keeping them strong and healthy over the coming months until harvest.
Our top task this weekend, therefore, will be giving our stawberry beds some TLC - clearing away dead leaves and general maintenance to set them up for a fruitful summer.
If there's time, we also have plenty to do to look after our apple trees so further activities could include checking tree health and making sure the protection (woodchip mulch, tree spacers and the pigeon canes) is still working.
Our volunteering days are a great opportunity to get to know Kindling Farm and your fellow farm community a bit better. We will provide refreshments, a hearty soup and good company!
