The Big Dig has now finished! Thank you to all the wonderful gardens throughout Greater Manchester who took part.
Big Dig Manchester was a network of community food-growing gardens across Greater Manchester, all of which are run by local people.
Big Dig provided training and advice to community food gardeners as well as helped them engage volunteers through corporate social opportunities and work with schools.
The gardens held open days to show off their great work and encourage more people to get involved in their local gardens, or if there isn’t one, to set one up!
The Big Dig was funded by the Social Action Fund, which was managed by The Social investment Business on behalf of the Cabinet Office. The Big Dig was co-ordinated nationally by Sustain: the alliance for food and farming
