Horticulture Course at Fir Tree Farm
Find out more straight from the horse's mouth!

If you've ever wondered about a career in farming, don't sit and ponder any longer (or even take it from us), come along for an evening with an experienced local organic grower, and a participant in the FarmStart programme, to find out if growing veg is a career you would be interested in.

Monday 15th Sep 6.30 – 8.00pm at the Kindling offices in Hulme.

Local food is popular on menus across Greater Manchester, and yet not enough of it is actually grown locally to fulfil this demand. A rising number of  people are opting for a more physical life away from a computer and a desk, a chance to get their hands dirty and supply restaurants, pubs and schools across Greater Manchester with good, healthy, fresh food.

It’s not an easy career, and you’ll never make your fortune from it, but it is fulfilling and we definitely need more farmers!

Learning to grow commercially takes time to build up the skills and experience to be able to make a living from it, but that’s what we’re offering. The Kindling Trust is offering a package unique in the UK, to support people into organic commercial growing – via a 4-day Commercial Organic Veg production Course (taught by experienced growers) and an incubator farm - FarmStart – providing access to land and a part-time training programme (so that you can do it on top of your paid work).

Come along for an hour or two to ask questions and speak to growers about their experience before you decide if the course and FarmStart is something you would be interested in.

Please email helen@kindling.org.uk if you will be coming along.

The Kindling Trust is a not for profit social enterprise with charitable aims (Company number: 6136029).
